- Pressures you to use drugs or alcohol
Why Do People Abuse?
Domestic violence and abuse originate from a desire to acquire and keep power and control over an intimate partner. Violent people believe they can manage and limit their partners, and they may enjoy the sensation that exerting power gives them. They typically think that their own feelings and needs must be the concern in their relationships, so they use abusive tactics to take apart equality and make their partners feel less valuable and deserving of regard in the relationship.
No matter why it occurs, abuse is not okay and it's never warranted.
Abuse is a learned habit. Often individuals see it in their own households. Other times they discover it from friends or popular culture. Nevertheless, abuse is a choice, and it's not one that anybody has to make. Many individuals who experience or witness abuse maturing decide not to utilize those negative and upsetting methods of acting in their own relationships. While outside forces such as drug or alcohol addiction can sometimes escalate abuse, it's most important to acknowledge that these concerns do not cause abuse.
Who Can Be in an Abusive Relationship?
